Loganair has announced it will now offer year-round flights from Glasgow to Donegal, Ireland. This move is part of the airline’s summer schedule, which began on Sunday, May 19. The service will provide crucial connectivity between the two destinations throughout the year.
During the summer season, Loganair will operate up to three flights a week to Donegal. As the winter season approaches, the airline will continue this route with flights on Fridays and Sundays, ensuring uninterrupted service.
As the UK’s largest regional airline, Loganair remains the sole provider of direct flights between the Northwest of Ireland and the United Kingdom.
Luke Lovegrove, Chief Commercial Officer at Loganair, stated, “With up to three flights a week, we are enhancing travel opportunities between Glasgow and Donegal. We anticipate carrying more passengers this summer than ever before on this route. We’re pleased to maintain service to Donegal throughout winter, ensuring continuous connectivity and encouraging early bookings for the best fares.”
Eilís Docherty, Managing Director of Donegal Airport, expressed enthusiasm about the year-round service, saying, “Donegal Airport is delighted to welcome Loganair back for Summer 2024 and looks forward to serving both new and returning passengers. The year-round operation will cater to the high demand for a direct air link between these closely connected regions.”
Donegal Airport, located at Carrickfinn, is famous for its stunning approach views and frequently ranks among the most scenic landings worldwide.
Loganair has been serving Donegal Airport since the early 1990s, and the relaunch of the Glasgow route in 2023 has been well-received by travelers.
