Today marks the 90th Birthday of Liverpool John Lennon Airport. First opening to the public in 1933 the airport lies 6.5 miles south of the city centre on the estuary of the river Mersey. The airport is served by 3 main aircraft operators EasyJet, Jet 2 and Ryanair. The airport is also served by private jets and also has its own flying club.
