A friend recently went on a cruise and took a bit of time to take some photos at Boston Logan International Airport. Thanks to Nigel Dawes for enabling us to share his photos that he took on his phone here on Final Approach. Here are some facts and figures about the airport.

  1. Location: Boston Logan International Airport is situated in East Boston, near the harbor, and covers approximately 2,384 acres
  2. Terminals: The airport has four passenger terminals (A, B, C, and E) with a total of 102 gates.
  3. Runways: Logan Airport has six runways in total, including four primary runways and two shorter runways.
  4. Passenger Traffic: It consistently ranks among the top 20 busiest airports in the United States in terms of passenger traffic.
  5. Customs and Immigration: Terminal E handles international flights and has customs and immigration facilities.
  6. Airlines: Multiple domestic and international airlines operate from Logan Airport, providing a wide range of flight options.
  7. Ground Transportation: The airport is well-connected to the city by various transportation options, including taxis, shuttles, the “T” (subway), and rental cars.
  8. Cargo Operations: The airport also handles a significant amount of cargo traffic.
