For many of you that are aware we recently took a day trip to Dublin and during our ferry crossing in the ships cinema they were showing the film Top Gun Maverick. This then gave us an idea to do a little blog on aircraft carriers.

They typically feature a flight deck for takeoff and landing of aircraft, and some have a ski-jump or catapults for assisted takeoffs. Carriers are often the centerpiece of naval fleets, enhancing a nation’s ability to control and safeguard maritime interests. They offer flexibility in responding to global threats and can support various types of aircraft, including fighter jets, reconnaissance planes, and helicopters.
