Introducing my SBS Radar
I’m sure many of you will have heard me mention that I’m populating my SBS radar box. So what does this mean. I’m very simple terms this means that I’m gathering information from aircraft’s that fly over head and adding the to a database which is known as an sqb file. I have a machine known as a kinetic sbs 1er which has an antenna linked to an adsb receiver which then plugs into my computer via a usb cable. The aircraft flying above is then processed on a radar screen to show its exact location. Data is the pulled from a database to show the aircraft registration, operator flag and much more. The feature photo for this post shows flights on a recent population Session covering most of Lancashire & parts of greater Manchester.
There will be a live stream in the near future explaining how it works so please consider liking the page on Facebook & social media for more information.
