Arm the doors and Crosscheck

Shortly after departing from the aircraft stand you will hear an announcement from the flight deck instructing them to arm the doors & crosscheck. This simply means that the door is ready for use in an emergency evacuation. If the door is opened the escape slide or raft will deploy and inflate. An escape slide can inflate in less than six seconds. Crew arm and disarm the door by moving a special lever with a locking pin. And after landing, you’ll hear the pilot ask crew to disarm doors this means that the emergency slide has been deactivated.

Cabin Crew Prepare the Cabin for Landing.

Following this announcement from the flight deck This is a sign to crew that the aircraft has started descending for landing and crew will make sure that everyone has their seatbelt fastened tray tables are stowed and the seat backs are upright with the armrest down and of course ensuring all the window shades are up. you will most likely hear a chime from the the aircraft intercom system we’re you will most likely see the seatbelt sign to be illuminated. An announcement will be made by the steward instructing passengers on what to do.
